The Galaxy S26 Ultra is for someone who wants the 6.9-inch Privacy Display, a stored S Pen, and the 200 MP camera, and who can live with a large phone. Samsung says sales started on 11 March 2026. March launch reviews from Marques Brownlee and Arun Maini describe Privacy Display, the stored pen, and charging up to 60 watts. Later reviews on this page run out to about six months. Those later checks are not a repair verdict, and long-term drop damage is still open.

Recurring strengths and trade-offs
In early hands-on reviews, Marques Brownlee and Arun Maini both say Privacy Display narrows what a person beside you can see. Brownlee says the feature turns off wide-angle pixels, cuts resolution, and can dim the panel. Maini says a steep angle can still leave the screen readable unless you use the strongest setting.
Samsung lists a 5,000 mAh battery. In early hands-on testing, both reviewers say that capacity matches the previous Ultra, while the phone lasts longer than that phone and charges at up to 60 watts.
Samsung says the phone has a built-in S Pen and an Armor Aluminum frame. Both reviewers say the pen stores in the phone. Both also say the sides are aluminum.
What depends on needs and context
Brownlee describes Privacy Display as a strong block from the side and from above. Maini says that, short of the strongest setting, the screen looks darker beside you but stays readable, and his shoot exposed a phone number at a steep angle.
Brownlee says the main and 5x cameras keep the prior hardware with wider apertures, and he wants that extra light. Maini says a same-scene photo looks less detailed than a Xiaomi 17 Ultra shot, with more sharpening on faces.
Decision checks
Brownlee says the starting price is 1,300 US dollars in his 6 March 2026 review. He also says the phone has no built-in Qi2 magnets and no silicon-carbon battery. Where a live base price is shown, it is the lowest storage before trade-in. Otherwise use the retailer link to check today's offer.
Samsung says the Ultra has an Armor Aluminum frame, Corning Gorilla Armor 2 on the front, Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the back, and an IP68 lab rating that can fade with wear. The reviews on this page, including checks at two to six months, do not settle repair cost or how the phone holds up after repeated drops.
